The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (@babtac) has this week launched a new campaign urging people to “Book in for Beauty” treatments to help secure the future of UK salons while also improving their own wellbeing.

"Despite an initial boom in treatment appointments when lockdown was lifted, some customers still feel hesitant to return back to salon" says BABTAC and according to The Mental Health Foundation, 42% of the UK population are currently experiencing worry or anxiety, and some of this could be down to lack of human touch and interaction.

BABTAC Chief Executive and Chair, Lesley Blair said: “Now more than ever, beauty professionals need to consider their client's mental health. Adjusting your treatment menu to cater for the new world is a great first step to making people more inclined to book back in.”

Paula’s Choice also offers powerful content and digital tools to demystify the science behind skincare, including an extensive “Ingredient Dictionary” that breaks down the research behind nearly 4,000 ingredients, and Expert Advice, a curated online hub of skincare and ingredient knowledge.

As part of the 2021 Product Demonstration Event, we will be running a selection of webinars during Wednesday and Thursday. These sessions will be exclusive to our ticket holders and will feature a variety of CEW partners such as Amazon, Sainsbury’s and Givaudan among others.

We will be publishing more information on the line-up across our stories, so do keep an eye out to see when the content is being released. Otherwise you can find more info in the hub.

Joining a session on the platform is easy, requires no complicated installations and no external software, and can be accessed from desktop or mobile via the sessions page in the hub. @unilever-owned brand, @dove, has announced the launch of its €8.5 million (equivalent to approx. £7.3 million) Forest Restoration Project, which is designed to protect and restore forests, protect the habitats of endangered species and improve the livelihoods of residents of North Sumatra. 

The project has been created in partnership with @conservationorg, and in support of their collaboration with The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), Dove has committed to protect and restore 20,000 hectares of forest in North Sumatra, Indonesia, over the course of five years. 

The project is estimated to capture over 300,000 tons of CO2 from the air and restrict the release of over 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions, support local communities and deliver biodiversity benefits such as the protection and restoration of habitats for many endangered species including the Sumatran Tiger, Sunda Pangolin, Sumatran Clouded Leopard, and Malayan Tapir.
