ABOUT THE AWARDS

WHAT ARE THE CEW BEAUTY AWARDS?
Known as the “Oscars of the Beauty Industry”, the CEW Beauty Awards was first launched in 2006 to recognise outstanding product innovation and creativity. Voted for by over 1,000 CEW members in the UK – industry professionals and experts in the field of beauty – the CEW Beauty Awards are recognised as one of the most coveted awards in the industry.
The CEW Responsible Beauty Award sponsored by Givaudan recognises a beauty product or product line that has most significantly moved towards the goal of improved sustainability. The Award aims to encourage steps towards greater sustainability within the beauty industry. Eligible beauty products or product lines must be currently available at retail in the UK. In 2022 the award evolved into 2 categories as follows: The ‘CEW Responsible Beauty Award for Excellence‘ to reward brands that are consistently performant in sustainability and the ‘CEW Responsible Beauty Award for Innovation‘ to recognise strong innovation e.g. in packaging, ingredients, formulation, life cycle, usage etc.
Entering the CEW Beauty Awards gives you the chance to raise the profile of your brand, and have your product recognised as a Beauty Insiders’ top pick for the year. Due to our independent status, the Awards receive extensive media coverage across multiple channels, from television and radio to top consumer and trade titles. Our CEW Beauty Awards Product Demonstration Event and Winners Announcement Lunch are two of the most highly anticipated events in the Beauty Industry calendar. Only current CEW members in the UK are entitled to vote for the winners in each category. Sponsors and guests at any Beauty Awards event will not be entitled to vote unless they are also a member. ENTERING THE AWARDS

All product entries are processed online. To enter your product or brand into the CEW Beauty Awards, please click here.
The entry fee per product/brand is dependent on when you submit your entry and whether you require an invoice. Fees for entries requiring an invoice include an administration charge and all invoices must be paid before the demonstration event on 12th March. Entries on or before 10th January 2024 £155 +VAT online payment, £180 +VAT if invoice required Entries on or after 10th January 2024 and until 1st February 2024 £195 +VAT online payment, £220 +VAT if invoice required ENTRIES CLOSE ON 1st FEBRUARY 2024

If you have entered a brand category, you should showcase the products that best represent your brand. Please note that any product supplied to CEW as samples for judging, must be demonstrated at the Product Demonstration Event.
Yes. If your product fulfils the criteria for more than one category you are able to enter it more than once.
If you have entered a product into the CEW Beauty Awards, you are required to supply the following product, no exceptions: 100 full retail sized samples to our fulfilment house (delivery address TBC but between 1st and 17th February 2024) per product entered. By entering you are agreeing that OUR fulfilment partner can contact you to arrange this. The delivery details for 2024 will be communicated upon entry. If you become a finalist of the CEW Beauty Awards you are required to supply the following product, no exceptions: 2 retail sized samples to CEW for photography and promotional purposes per product entered.
If you have entered a brand into the CEW Beauty Awards, you are required to supply the following product, no exceptions: 100 retail sized samples in total to our fulfilment house (delivery 1-17 February 2024) per brand entered. By entering you are agreeing that our fulfilment partner can contact you to arrange these. The delivery details for 2024 will be communicated upon entry. If you become a finalist of the CEW Beauty Awards you are required to supply the following product, no exceptions: 2 retail sized samples of 3 different hero products to CEW for photography and promotional purposes per brand entered.
We will be providing a digital resource for entries in 2024 and therefore require an image for each entered product. All images must be high resolution and in .jpeg or .png format. This image will be used throughout the awards process so the quality is paramount. Please send this image, clearly labelled by brand and category entered to [email protected].
You must provide your product image during the entry process. If you do not have a product image, you can save incomplete entry forms until you are able to obtain one. Entry forms will not be considered complete without a product image.
We would recommend using a group product shot for brand entries.
The CEW team will contact you once your entry has been processed to arrange this. Please do not send any products to the office at this time.
Should you wish to withdraw your entry, we are able to provide a full refund if notified prior to the final entry date of 1st February 2024. Should you withdraw your entry after the final entry date, we are unfortunately unable to refund your entry fee.

PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION EVENING

The Product Demonstration Event is a compulsory event for all products and brands entered into the CEW Beauty Awards, and provides a unique opportunity for you to showcase your latest and most innovative product offerings for the year in front of CEW members. These industry professionals and experts will be voting for the Beauty Awards winners so this is your chance to make an impression.
The 2023 Product Demonstration Evening will be held on 12th March 2023 at the Business Design Centre.
Only CEW members, sponsors and guests with valid tickets are entitled to attend this event. The CEW members vote for the winners in each category – sponsors and their guests are not eligible to vote unless they are CEW members.
If you are demonstrating at the Product Demonstration Event, you do not require a ticket to do so but you must be registered in advance for security reasons. Should you wish to receive the selection of products for testing at the end of the event and to then vote in the awards, you must be a valid CEW member and have purchased a ticket for the event. Demonstrators without a ticket will not be eligible to participate in the event activities nor receive the selection of products for sampling and voting at the end of the event.
Unfortunately, only members attending the Product Demonstration Event in person will be entitled to receive products at the end of the night. However, we are able to refund the cost of your ticket if you inform us that you are no longer able to attend 7 working days prior to the date of the event.
Only CEW members and sponsors with a valid Product Demonstration Evening ticket will be eligible to receive products for testing at the end of the event. Demonstrators will not be entitled to receive product selection for testing unless they hold a valid ticket for the event.
All brands and products entered into the CEW Beauty Awards are required to demonstrate at the Product Demonstration Event. This is your opportunity to showcase your product/brand in front of top industry executives, and those who will be voting on the awards.
One demonstrator is required per product/brand entered and stands must be manned at all times. Unfortunately, due to space restrictions, we do not allow more than one demonstrator per entry. Please note if you have entered more than one product, you will require more than one demonstrator as stands are not organised by brand.
No, your demonstrator does not need to be a CEW member. We strongly recommend that the person you select has an in-depth knowledge of the product they will be demonstrating, and feels comfortable answering questions and showcasing this to event attendees.
As a demonstrator, you are entitled to purchase a ticket for the Product Demonstration Evening and receive the products for testing if you are a valid CEW member. However as your stand must be manned at all times throughout the evening, this will only entitle you to collect products at the end of the event - you will not be able to view other stands or participate in the Activation Area activities.
You should bring enough retail sized product to create a display and demonstrate to event attendees on the day. Remember, your entry is judged on every aspect from packaging to product benefits. However samples may not be given out to attendees to take away.
Supporting collateral and props may be displayed to support your product entry. This is your chance to showcase your product/brand in front of top industry professionals, so be creative! Generally, we advise against handing out printed collateral, but should you wish to bring leaflets, these must be A5 or smaller and relate specifically to the product entered. Product catalogues and look books are not permitted. Should you wish to follow up with our members after the event, we would recommend collecting business cards/contact information on the day. We do not permit freestanding display units, pop-ups, or posters larger than A4. Video presentations, multi-media or any other technological displays are also not permitted. No exceptions. Please do not distribute any product samples or bags. CEW will allocate guests with one official product bag per person as they depart. If this event is cancelled or rescheduled, CEW's liability is limited to only reimbursing tickets or entry fees already paid to CEW. It does not cover any additional costs that may have been accrued by the attendee.

VOTING

Voting will open in the w/c 18th March 2024 and will close at the end on 3rd May 2024 at 5pm. We have extended the testing period for 2024 and would recommend that if you feel unable to test all of the products that you receive that you share these and gather feedback from colleagues etc

If you purchased a ticket for and attended the Product Demonstration Evening, then you are required to vote for one product in every category of the CEW Beauty Awards.
Yes. In order to submit your votes, you must vote for one product in every category.
The Finalists will be announced in the w/c 20th May 2024
The vote is submitted via an independent secure third party platform and winners of the CEW Beauty Awards are independently verified by EY and supplied back to CEW in a password secured spreadsheet with restricted access.

WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT LUNCH

The Winners Announcement Lunch is an industry event hosted in central London where the finalists of each category discover which product has been chosen as the top pick for the year.
The Winners Announcement Lunch will be held on 28th June 2024
The Winners Announcement Lunch is attended by the Beauty Awards finalists, CEW members, sponsors and their guests. Be the first to find out the Beauty Insiders’ top picks for the year at this much-loved event.
As a requirement of entry, if your product or brand is a finalist in the CEW Beauty Awards, you must have a representative present at the Winners Announcement Lunch should you be required to accept an award on stage. No exceptions can be made in this regard.

AFTER THE AWARDS

If your product has won a CEW Beauty Award or been shortlisted as a finalist, then you are entitled to use the CEW winners or finalist seal. This is available as stickers for use on product packaging, or as a digital file for use online or in print. Suggested areas for use include product packaging, online, show cards, window displays, print advertising, press releases, consumer communications (online or print). There is no charge for the use of this seal.
