Cosmetic heavyweights @unilever, @henkel, @lorealparis, @lvmh and @naturaandco have announced the creation of the first industry-wide environmental impact scoring system for beauty products.
 
The goal is to provide consumers with clear, transparent, and comparable information about the environmental impact of the beauty products they use to support more sustainable shopping choices.
 
The consortium will be open to any company that wishes to join and will consider the complete product lifecycle, covering parameters including formula, packaging, and usage.

Nikkie de Jager, best known as social media beauty sensation @nikkietutorials, has announced her debut skincare range Nimya.

The line consists of five products: a de-puffing ice stick for the eyes, a moisturiser-primer hybrid, a serum, a setting spray and a drying post-makeup fan.

Having worked as an influencer in the beauty community for the past 14 years, her followers have been eager for Nikkie to create her own brand, with the announcement post attracting over 921,770 views and 100K likes.

The line will drop on 23 September and will only be sold via nimya.com, with a limited supply via MamaTutorials, de Jager’s mother's own retail website.

Every day in the UK, 58 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer, and 21 will sadly die. The Eve Appeal are determined to change this.

Global cosmetics brand @ctilburymakeup has announced it has been Leaping Bunny approved by @crueltyfreeintl.

Cruelty Free International’s (CFI) Leaping Bunny Programme is the internationally recognisable gold standard in cruelty-free beauty and is awarded to brands that meet its rigorous globally-applied criteria.

‘For a company this size, Leaping Bunny approval is a huge undertaking and shows just how serious the brand is about being cruelty free and ending the suffering of animals for cosmetics.’ – Michelle Thew, CEO, Cruelty Free International

This news comes after it was announced that the UK's 1998 law against animal tasting could be at risk if the UK Government agrees to align with a decision by the European Chemicals Agency's (ECHA) Board of Appeal, which requires certain cosmetics ingredients to be tested on animals before use on humans.
