CEW ANNOUNCE BEAUTY INDUSTRY’S FINEST AT 2015 ACHIEVER AWARDS
On Monday 2nd November 2015, CEW celebrated some exceptional individuals within the beauty industry at their 14th annual Achiever Awards held in the packed ballroom of the Jumeirah Carlton Hotel, in front of an industry audience, families and friends. This year's Achiever Award recipients have helped shape and influence the beauty industry in different ways.
Caroline Neville President of CEW said, “It was with much pride that CEW recognised each of these people. It was a cross generational and diverse group of Achievers this year which reflects the CEW membership in 2015. It was a magical evening.”
2015 CEW LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD
Mary Greenwell
The Lifetime Achiever Award is presented to an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the industry throughout their lifetime. This year’s winner, Mary Greenwell is one of the world’s most sought-after makeup artists. Her influence over the fashion and beauty industry is undisputed. From creating new trends on the catwalk to winning numerous beauty awards, Mary continues to be one of the best makeup artists in the industry.
Mary has created the looks behind some of the most iconic photo shoots of our time, working with royalty and supermodels alike. Her contribution to the makeup industry and influence on beauty as a whole is truly remarkable and so it was with great pleasure that CEW presented Mary with their 2015 Lifetime Achiever Award. Tributes were paid to her by Charlotte Tilbury, Lisa Eldridge, Sam McKnight and Cate Blanchett all made possible by Jo Allison, PR Director at Chanel who presented the award to Mary.
2015 CEW SPECIAL INDUSTRY AWARD
Stephen Quinn
The CEW Special Industry Award is presented to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry and the advancement of individuals in their careers. This year the honour went to Stephen Quinn, Publishing Director of British Vogue for almost a quarter of a century, and one of the all-time greats of the media industry. This year, Stephen was inducted into the PPA Hall of Fame, affirming his exceptional contribution to the magazine industry over the course of his long career. President of CEW, Caroline Neville, presented Stephen with his much-deserved 2015 CEW Special Industry Award.

Margaret Attwooll – General Manager, Parfums Christian Dior
A 30 year veteran of the beauty industry, Margaret is a wonderful leader of people, who has orchestrated success for the company in the UK for a very long time. Affectionately known as “The Scottish Pocket Rocket”, Margaret is much admired by her peers. Her award was presented by Annalise Fard, Director of Home & Beauty at Harrods, a great admirer of Margaret’s.
Sarah Brown – Founder, Pai Skincare
Out of her personal experience of a bad skin allergy and inability to find suitable beauty products, Sarah Brown created the hugely successful award winning organic brand, Pai Skincare. Helping others facing similar issues, was the motivational drive for this outstanding young woman. The natural world is a continuous source of inspiration in her business. Mother to two young children, Sarah is business-minded and shows exceptional leadership skills - she is an inspiration to all in the beauty industry. Her award was presented by Richard Fox, Director of Pai Skincare.
Vasiliki Petrou – Senior Vice President, Unilever Prestige
Vasiliki Petrou has been described as a true visionary and is tremendously passionate about the beauty industry. Her father told her to shoot for the stars and she certainly does that. Three years ago she joined Unilever, looking after creativity and innovation in Personal Care, and set up the Prestige business, which she intends to grow. Mother to a son and daughter, she excels in everything she does and we salute her. Her award was presented by Alan Jope, President of Unilever Personal Care.
Geraldine Howard – Chairman & Founder, Aromatherapy Associates
Geraldine Howard is one of the most inspiring, passionate and loved women in the beauty industry today. She works hard to create products that make a tangible difference to people’s lives, with her blends of oils famed the world over. Geraldine’s love of aromatherapy began over 30 years ago. In response to her own health problems she blended Inner Strength, which has raised tens of thousands of pounds for new and innovative cancer research. Her award was presented by her personal friend Helen Macoun, Founder of Imagination PR.

Kyra Oates
A very special award which recognises an up-and-coming star in the beauty industry is the CEW Members’ Achiever Award – chosen by the CEW members. This year the award was given to Kyra Oates, Head of PR & Events, Benefit Cosmetics. Voted for by her peers, Kyra is a much-respected driving force in beauty PR and the members of CEW recognised her for ambition and effectiveness. Kyra will be a wonderful Ambassador for CEW and its soon to be launched Young Executive Programme. The Award was presented by Simon Comins, Buying Director at Superdrug and Carol Bagnold, Senior Executive Director Commercial & Private Banking, HSBC, both supporters of this year’s event.

In acknowledgement of how important digital outreach has become, CEW is pleased to present this award in conjunction with Google. Highlighting the creativity and innovation that beauty brands are displaying in the rapidly evolving consumer landscape, this award celebrates those who are using digital outreach to their utmost advantage. The 2015 CEW Digital Achiever Award was awarded to Tricia Cusden, Founder & Managing Director of Look Fabulous Forever and presented by Alice Rock, Beauty Industry Manager at Google. Tricia has shown unparalleled prowess in the digital remit, engaging with her key consumers via her social media channels.
It was an emotionally charged evening for the winners, their colleagues and friends and CEW would like to once again congratulate all the 2015 Achievers, thank all of our sponsors and everyone who came to show their support.
