Pauline Paterson, proud CEW member and Co-Founder of South London beauty brand Dr.PAWPAW, is taking on an extraordinary journey this International Women’s Day – driving a rickshaw 1,000km across India to raise funds for grassroots charities supporting women and girls.
Sixty female entrepreneurs and business leaders are set to take on a 1,000km rickshaw rally across India as part of the Sisterhood Rickshaw Rally 2025. The initiative aims to raise £350,000 to support grassroots charities focused on empowering women and girls through education, skills training, and maternal health support.
Empowering Women Through Action
The rally, which runs from March 6 – 11, 2025, will see participants travel from Chennai to Goa, navigating challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions. Among those taking part is Pauline Paterson, co-founder of the British beauty brand Dr.PAWPAW.
Funds raised will support three key initiatives:
- Building Safe Classrooms – Constructing weatherproof and functional schools for girls and children with disabilities.
- Skills Training for Women – Providing vocational training in nursing, IT, and trade skills to promote financial independence.
- Maternal Health Support – Addressing postpartum anaemia and providing essential medical care for vulnerable mothers.
A Community of Change-Makers
The rally features participants from prominent brands such as GoHenry, Killing Kittens, Great British Entrepreneur Awards, and Ideas Fest. The Sisterhood Group, the organization behind the initiative, has a history of extreme fundraising challenges and has raised over £1 million for various causes since its founding.
With over £50,000 already raised, organizers are calling on supporters to help them reach their ambitious £350,000 goal. Donations can be made via the official fundraising page.
