Back for a third year, QVC is on the hunt for another star beauty brand
QVC’s ‘Find a Beauty Brand’ in association with CEW, is returning for a third year, once again opening for entries on 8 June. With the chance to bypass the queues for a place on QVC’s highly competitive beauty roster, while enjoying the support of its expert team, the competition is a money-can’t buy opportunity for undiscovered beauty brands.
‘Find a Beauty Brand’ has proved hugely successful in previous years, with winners going on to great success with the retailer. Last year, QVC was so impressed with the calibre of the entries that it chose two winners – Little Ondine and NIOD – which both proved a hit with viewers, with sell-out lines in their first shows.
Competition winners receive three guaranteed on-air appearances on the live QVC Channel, plus a one hour show on QVC Beauty – the UK’s first channel dedicated to all things beauty. This is supported by a feature on the QVC website, and followed up with a stand at the 2017 Customer Beauty Event, attended by over 5,000 of QVC’s customers.
Sandra Vallow, Director of Buying – Beauty, QVC, commented: “QVC thrives on offering customers the newest and most innovative beauty brands, while also supporting up and coming talent in the industry. Our ‘Find a Beauty Brand’ competition has proven the perfect way to do both and we’re hugely excited to launch it for a third year.
“It is always great to watch brands go to air for the first time, but it’s particularly exciting to watch our CEW Competition winners launch their live shows, with the support of QVC and CEW behind them. Last year’s winners, NIOD and Little Ondine, were fantastic on air, far exceeding our sales expectations. We can’t wait to see another new brand see similar success in the months to come.”
QVC and CEW have been in partnership for a decade, making them natural partners in sourcing and mentoring a new brand. The prize also includes one year’s membership to CEW and promotion across the CEW network, with the opportunity to hold a mentoring event to help nurture other new brands in the market.
Caroline Neville, President of CEW(UK) said: “CEW are delighted to be collaborating with QVC in this exciting competition to “Find a Beauty Brand”. Now in its third year it has become a firm fixture in our CEW programme and we know that new and fledgling brands love it. All the team at CEW look forward to discovering the new and exciting stars of the future.”
One of last year’s winners, Nicola Kilner, founder of NIOD, said: “QVC has been an exceptional retailer to work with on every level. The team are second to none, always going above and beyond to make our execution viewer focused and educational. We have continued to be given great shows and supported with new product launches to ensure we always have great fresh content to share.”
Helene Panzorino, founder of Little Ondine, commented: “It’s been such a wonderful experience! We’ve been so warmly welcomed by the QVC family, and customers have understood and got on board with our revolutionary brand, with sell out after sell out. We hadn’t realised how many glitter lovers there are! Meeting everyone and being so wonderfully embraced has been amazing.”
