CEW Celebrate Biggest Ever Product Demonstration Evening The Beauty Experience of 2016
On Tuesday 23 February, CEW welcomed more than 700 CEW members and key media to the biggest ever Product Demonstration Evening at London Olympia. Now in its 11th year, The CEW Beauty Awards Product Demonstration Evening, sponsored by Marks & Spencer, is one of the most anticipated events in the beauty industry calendar and the first step towards naming the illustrious CEW Beauty Award winners.
This year saw a record number of entries into the CEW Beauty Awards, with 350 products entered across 27 categories. Representatives from 213 of the world’s best beauty brands were on hand to display and showcase their most exciting new launches. Products were swatched, spritzed and sampled by those in the know in what was a real celebration of beauty and innovation in the industry.
Title sponsor Marks & Spencer invited members to get the supermodel look with mini makeovers showcasing the new Rosie for Autograph cosmetic collection by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and flash manicures, both of which proved hugely popular on the evening.
Throughout the evening, members were invited to enjoy pampering experiences in the luxurious relaxation area. Leading brands including Philips, ghd, Benefit and Unilever’s new dental brand Regenerate, offered a variety of experiences including brow shaping, hair styling and much more.
Skincare has proven to be of utmost importance for brands in 2016, with the Best New Skincare Treatment Product proving the most popular category. British brands also came out in force, with the Best British Brand category receiving a record number of entries. Environmentally-friendly products are also continuing to dominate the market, with the Eco Beauty Award sponsored by Givaudan going from strength to strength in its fifth year.
At the end of the evening, visitors received their infamous CEW bag, kindly designed and packed by Latest in Beauty, which was bursting with a handpicked selection of gorgeous products from the exhibitors. Post event, all members take the products home to test and then cast their vote for their favourite products.
