On Tuesday 18th February CEW marked the first step in this year’s highly coveted CEW Beauty Awards at their Product Demonstration Evening. The evening celebrated the innovation and creativity of both iconic and start up brands, and saw over 1,000 beauty industry members, industry influencers and media descend upon Olympia in London.
The Awards, now in its 15th year, were bigger than ever before, showcasing over 300 entries from 185 brands across 32 categories. During the evening, attendees were able to visit awards sponsors at their stands for live demonstrations of products and services including those of headline sponsors Amazon and Sainsbury’s, and the complimentary bar staged by Batiste was also available to guests, where they could enjoy a chilled glass of prosecco and connect with other members of the CEW community.
A wide range of brands entered the 2020 Awards, including long established brands, relative industry newcomers such as Drunk Elephant, Huda and Glossier and also start up brands that were showcasing to the industry for the very first time. CEW are delighted to have seen significant growth in the independently judged Responsible Beauty Award sponsored by Givaudan. The Vegan Beauty category as well as Grooming and Beauty Supplement categories also saw some really interesting entries. Moderated by EY, the CEW Beauty Awards act as a true trend indicator for the sector and are the only Beauty Awards that are voted for by professionals working within the industry across all sectors.
Sallie Berkerey, Managing Director of CEW said, “In my first year at CEW, I’m delighted by the huge variety of brand entries that we have had this year, we have seen amazing new innovations and trends from long established brands to newcomers alike. It is a privilege to be part of such a buoyant and creative industry”.
Online voting for the CEW Beauty Awards opens this week and will be closing on 10th March so CEW members can vote to have their voice heard before the Winners Announcement Lunch later in the year.
