The Inkey List has introduced a groundbreaking product in barrier skincare: the Ectoin Hydro-Barrier Serum. This serum is designed to enhance long-term skin health by immediately boosting hydration up to ten surface layers deep while simultaneously fortifying the skin’s barrier. It merges barrier science with hydration technology to deliver noticeable skin improvements within 15 minutes, resulting in visibly plumper and smoother skin in just seven days.
The key ingredient, ectoin, is renowned for its ability to protect against dehydration and optimise skin health from within. Naturally derived, ectoin is celebrated for its capacity to defend against dehydration, reduce inflammation, and stabilise skin cells under environmental stress.
Ectoin functions by binding water from its environment, forming a protective layer around skin cells. This barrier strengthens the skin, reduces vulnerability to oxidative stress and inflammation, and minimises transepidermal water loss, ensuring prolonged hydration. Additionally, the serum contains multi-molecular hyaluronic acid and a 1% barrier blend to visibly improve five signs of a compromised skin barrier: dryness, flakiness, dullness, redness, and slackness, enabling the skin to retain moisture more effectively.
This launch coincides with The Inkey List’s new hydration campaign, highlighting the importance of hydration as the cornerstone of skin health. Co-founder Colette Laxton stated, “At The Inkey List, we’re all about results-driven skincare—no BS. With 91% of people struggling with dehydration, we’re making 2025 the Year of Hydration. Our ‘Hydrate like your skin depends on it’ campaign is here to show that hydration is the foundation of healthy skin.”
Established in 2018 by CEW Board Member Colette Laxton and Co- Founder Mark Curry, The Inkey List aims to democratise skincare through knowledge, simplify product ingredient lists, and provide high-performance skincare at accessible prices.
