M·A·C Cosmetics has relaunched one of its most recognisable products, the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, with a new formulation designed to deliver improved oil control and a smoother, soft-focus finish. The update also introduces a significantly expanded shade range, now comprising 78 shades – the largest powder foundation range currently available in the UK market.
According to data from Circana, M·A·C remains the number one prestige brand for pressed powder foundation in the UK, based on unit sales from June 2023 to May 2024.
The new iteration of Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation aims to address consumer demand for long-wearing, versatile powder foundations that cater to a wide spectrum of skin tones and types. It is particularly formulated for oily skin, while remaining suitable for all skin types.
Key enhancements include:
- Refillable compact packaging
- 24-hour oil and shine control
- Sweat and humidity resistance
- No greying on deeper skin tones
“When I started at M·A·C in the early 90s, Studio Fix Powder was a phenomenon that became one of M·A·C’s true icons,” recalls CEW Achiever Award recipient Terry Barber (Director of Makeup Artistry).
“I never thought it could get any better, but Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is a major upgrade for Artists and consumers who want all-in-one results. The finish creates a new type of matte skin that’s soft-focus, smooth and devoid of any powdery residue. Offering shine control and seamless coverage, it allows natural skin texture and healthy radiance to show through – and the expanded shade range gives consumers more pinpoint precision when matching their skin tone.”
The updated Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is available from 7th April at all M·A·C locations and online, retailing at £34.
