Why is CEW membership important to you? Do you have any tips for getting the most out of CEW membership?

View CEW as a community that’s there to help you and don’t be afraid to reach out. Through CEW, I have found a business mentor, connected with retailers, co-hosted a webinar and made great industry connections. There is also a ton of valuable industry data. Being so busy, I also enjoy that the weekly newsletter provides a nifty market update.

What is the most exciting aspect of your current role?

As a founder it is the creative space to develop and bring new ideas to life and seeing people enjoy and derive value from my creations.

What do you feel is the most important quality for someone to possess in order you have a successful career and build a successful beauty business, and what advice would you give to someone starting in the industry today?

Do the ground work, understand your purpose and values. As a new business owner, it’s easy to get distracted by the different ideas and suggestions that you’ll get. Knowing what’s non-negotiable will keep you focused and help you know what advice you take on or dismiss.

What are you most excited about for your business in the next twelve months?

LBB was created for an active and dynamic life lived to the fullest. So as a result of the recent pandemic, it has to be the return to a world where we can live fully again - travel, visit friends and enjoy our cities.

What book would you recommend and why?

Shoe Dog - a memoir by the Creator of NIKE, Phil Knight. It’s an inspiring series of business and life lessons – an absolute must read for any entrepreneur. Here is an excerpt from it “So that morning in 1962 I told myself: Let everyone else call your idea crazy . . . just keep going. Don’t stop. Don’t even think about stopping until you get there, and don’t give much thought to where “there” is. Whatever comes, just don’t stop.”
