From Paris to New York, Miller Harris Stories collection has been inspired by passages of text from famous literature to inspire the wearer to create a new story of their own.
The first two new scents to the collection, Soufflot and Celadon launch on 1st May and two further scents are set to launch this September.
Launched in 2018, Scherzo was inspired by a passage of text in F.Scott Fitzgerald’s Book, Tender is the Night. This short passage was the only thing provided to perfumer, Matthieu Nardin as the brief for the fragrance to be created. The resulting perfume has gone on to become an instant classic and a Miller Harris perfume bestseller in our house of fragrances. Scherzo represents in a single concept, the heart of Miller Harris.
Rich storytelling in fragrance creation, with colour bleeding from the literary culture into our fragrances.
Gourmande scent Soufflot is inspired by an early morning spring-time stroll through Paris
Inspired by Ernest Hemmingway’s ‘The Sun Also Rises’, woody floral Soufflot evokes memories of an early spring morning stroll at the Luxembourg Garden in Paris. Through the blossoms, past nearby cafés and florists opening their shops with flowers fresh from the market.
Soufflot incorporates the nuttiness of Chestnut and Hazelnut with Cinnamon Leaf and honey to create the sweet sense of fresh brioche paired with coffee, enjoyed at the start of a warm Parisian day. As the wearer wanders through the boulevards of Paris to the Rue Soufflot, lasting impressions of Tobacco Absolute and Leather linger while the white glistening florals of Green Mandarin and Sambac Jasmine Absolute provide a freshness to cut through the buttery warmth of its heart.
Celadon is a green, floral ode to jade
An ethereal floral green scent, Celadon provides a moment of refreshing escapism. Inspired by the classical Chinese text, Dream of the Red Chamber, the fragrance places focus on the vibrancy of jade celadon entwined with moss, set amongst the magical light of the moon.
Opening with green notes of Tea Ceylon and Tomato Leaves to recall the waxy green grass and jade stone of Imperial China, notes of cardamom, magnolia, smoked tea, and mate export the wearer to another land. Lavender and white musk evoke a fresh sense of purity, while notes of red fruit and rose impart a sense of autumnal rain.
