Paul Mitchell announced this week that they are the first ever official sponsor of sensational hairstyling competition ‘The Big Blow Out’ hosted by AJ Odudu for E4.
The impact of the pandemic on the salon hair care market was devastating; the industry was hit hard, and Channel 4 are playing their part to help bring about a renaissance within the hairdressing community by launching this brand-new series. With over 40 years of John Paul Mitchell Systems serving the professional beauty industry with eco-conscious, salon-quality hair products across the globe, the brand is one of the most recognised and respected names in the industry. Pioneers of cruelty free beauty, Paul Mitchell are thrilled to have won the sponsorship of this exciting new show:
“We are thrilled to be the official sponsor for The Big Blow Out. Salon Services and Paul Mitchell UK have always championed the creativity and talent of British Hairdressers. We can’t wait for the Great British public to be captivated by the skill and excitement this competition will showcase!” – Dara Goolsby, Marketing Director at Sally Europe, the exclusive UK distributors for Paul Mitchell.
Confirmed judges are legendary hairdresser Sam McKnight and award-winning hairdresser Lisa Farrall. Along with a weekly guest judge, Sam and Lisa will use their expertise and knowledge as they offer advice and guidance to push these hopefuls to their limits.
The series will see eleven experienced, keen, and passionate hairstylists compete in a series of extravagant and jaw dropping hair challenges as they battle to be the first ever The Big Blow Out champion. They will be pleasing real clients with exacting styling demands in the first challenge and unleashing their individual taste and creativity to produce standout creations in the ‘Masterpiece’ challenge.
Kieran Smith, Creative Director at Love Productions and Exec producer of The Big Blow Out said: “The Big Blowout is Love’s first commission for E4 and we are thrilled to be making a brand-new competition series for the channel. From large scale spectacular creations to real world time pressured hair assignments, we hope to showcase the very best hair stylists that Britain has to offer. Hopefully audiences will hold hair stylists close to their heart in the way they have bakers and potters.”
The Big Blow Out began on 3rd October 2022 and will air for six weeks.
