Consumers forced to stay at home due to coronavirus have been turning to Google for advice on hair, nails, eyebrows and skin care.
As reported a few weeks ago social distancing has forced British consumers to take their otherwise professional beauty routines into their own hands and as a consequence, there have been some interesting beauty searches being made on Google since lockdown started on 23rd March. As we pass in to month two of the lockdown it’s fascinating to see what’s still ranking highly.
As time has moved on there has been a significant increase in Google searches for DIY haircuts, indeed nine of the top ten Google searches are hair-centric. Cosmetify reports that during the lockdown the biggest beauty question so far has been ‘how to cut men’s hair’ with a 623.5% increase in search figures.
Interestingly, there has been a 124.7% rise in people looking up ‘how to cut a mullet’, a 1980s style that is sported by Joe Exotic, of cult Netflix series “Tiger King” a trend that may well disappear when people return to work.
