We are pleased to share a recent update from our charity partner The Eve Appeal below:
ASK EVE IS REACHING MORE PEOPLE
Ask Eve, our nurse-led information service, has been supporting twice as many people as this time last year. It is fantastic that more people are aware of Ask Eve, and we’re determined to help everyone who needs advice and support about their gynae health. It’s a challenging time right now, and Ask Eve is completely reliant on donations from our wonderful supporters. We’ll be letting you know more about how you can support this vital service over the next few weeks, but in the meantime if you would like to support Ask Eve, you can donate here. And if you want to contact an Ask Eve nurse you can find out more by clicking here.
AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY
Mark Vanhegan and Phil Stephenson, who have been friends for over 30 years, have taken on an amazing walk from Winchester all the way to Rome in memory of their mothers, who both died of ovarian cancer. They are raising money for Eve, as well as Sobell House and Oxford and Bolton Hospices. To read more about their journey and their story, you can go to our latest blog.
CALLING ALL RUNNERS!
Feeling inspired by Mark and Phil’s incredible fundraising? We are currently looking for runners to join #TeamEve for the Vitality London 10,000 and help us make gynaecological cancers diseases of the past. Whether you’re a new or experienced runner, we’ll be on hand throughout your training and fundraising to support you with your goal. Anyone who takes part will receive an Eve Appeal running vest! Apply before Thursday 24th August to secure your place.
#VAGINALCANCER RETURNS TO INSTAGRAM
A few weeks ago we discovered that #VaginalCancer was being hidden on Instagram. Instagram is a huge platform for us to share lifesaving information to help people know their body, spot cancer symptoms and get checked.
We are happy to report that the hashtag can now be found again! There are over 12,300 posts now visible with important health information on and raising awareness of gynaecological cancers.
A massive thank you to everyone who shared our social media posts and helped get #VaginalCancer back on Instagram.
