To celebrate World Earth Day, Bouclème, the naturally powerful curl care brand, are launching a new sustainable refill service with On Repeat.
When Bouclème launched in 2014, sustainability was always top of mind, from packaging to formulations, recycling to supporting charities like Trees For The Future. The partnership with On Repeat is the next step in that journey.
From Saturday April 22nd, Bouclème customers will be able to order their favourite products as a 100% compostable refill, reducing their carbon footprint and packaging imprint on the planet. On Repeat’s refill model is the first of its kind and is 100% plastic free and 100% compostable, meaning that unlike other refill schemes, after use it will simply break down and become a part of the circular economy.
The refill itself is comprised of two parts, a compostable mixed bio-based pouch which is then shipped in a cardboard outer wallet made from FSC certified kraft board. All print uses vegetable inks. To use, you simply snip the side of the pouch, decant and place the packaging in your garden waste collection or home compost. As the refill is 100% compostable, it needs to be decanted within 5 days of receiving your order. On Repeat are a B2B organisation and will be fulfilling the refill service directly from their lab-warehouse. The price is exactly the same as ordering a new product.
Realising that the onus was almost entirely on the end consumer to do the sustainable part of previous refill models, On Repeat set out to create a system that was part of the circular economy and designed out unnecessary units of packaging and waste from the get go.
