Facetheory has announced the debut of its London flagship store on 80-82 Regent Street, Quadrant Arcade, London. Opened in June 2024, Facetheory created their very own ‘lab-meets-store’.
The science-first skincare brand, born through digitally tracked search behaviour, has undergone a major reinvention to deliver sustainable and efficacious skincare. Marking this milestone rebrand, Facetheory is expanding from online into its first-ever retail location, and it promises to be a beauty shopping experience like no other.
The immersive new retail space has opened its doors in the Quadrant Arcade, Regents Street, with a laser focus on skin education. The ‘lab-meets-store’ concept enables customers to experience the science behind the skincare brand that’s already amassed a cult online following, in a space that encourages them to “stay and play” rather than “grab and go.”
Coinciding with Facetheory’s 10th anniversary, the two-part store provides plenty of space for the ever-expanding range of skincare, bodycare and colour. Powered by new and improved skin actives and potent botanical extracts, Facetheory has undergone a “philosophical reset,” with an overhauled website, product packaging, collection categories and more, allowing customers a more intuitive and results-driven routine building experience.
A Store Seeped in Sustainability
Facetheory is an eco-activist brand, always striving for sustainability and reusability without compromising its efficacious, science-first formulas. The new retail space is a testament to that. Co-conceived by seasoned store designer Sebastien van den Berg and Taylor Haywood, Studio Director of NYC firm Roman and Williams, and brought to life by London-based EVH Studios, the dream space encapsulates the brand’s sustainable ‘less-is-more’ ethos. Just as Facetheory’s fully recyclable packaging is inspired by the simple geometric shapes and primary colours of the Bauhaus art and architecture movement, you’ll find it interwoven into the interiors of the store, with the timeless elegance of antique Bauhaus-style furniture. Why Bauhaus? Because it was a movement that stipulated form follows function, devoid of spin and unnecessary embellishment, much like the brand’s formulation ethos and ‘anti-marketing’ stance.
Step inside to discover a custom painting technique by artist Laura Ann Morris in the brand’s new signature Deep Green colour story, and an art installation from Ollie Clifford using the brand’s surplus amber glass jars. You’ll also find recycled steel and aluminum fixtures throughout the store, and recycling and refill stations to support local shoppers.
Launched in 2014 in Sheffield by Jamie Shuker, Facetheory’s “less is more” principle has continued to run through the brand’s core, from its small-batch production to the streamlined yet efficacious ingredient lists. Ten years on and the team continues to research, design, formulate and produce 100% of the products in-house, holding themselves accountable for delivering efficacious vegan products to the highest standard. The Quadrant Arcade was the perfect location to bring this skincare haven to life because of the crown estate’s commitment to supporting smaller independent British brands.
“The new store is the embodiment of sustainability and science. We challenged ourselves to only use fully recyclable materials and source vintage furniture to keep our carbon footprint down, while showcasing a design ethos of simplicity and efficacy.”
