The Unilever owned, luxury skincare brand is working with non-profit charity, Become who provide support services to children in care, as they adjust to leaving the system and begin their journey as independent adults. The charity emphasises the detrimental impact a lack of stability can have on young lives and seeks to empower young people in care with advice and encouragement.
Kate Somerville promises to champion young care experienced individuals, giving them the support, belief, and opportunities, they need to make their dreams possible.
Partnering with Become, they will provide funding to help empower young care experienced people with the next important step in their lives, ultimately setting them on a path to help make their dreams possible.
Annually they have committed to:
- Help Become provide advice, coaching and career support to 130 young people in care and young care leavers
- Donate £25,000 in the next twelve months to support care-experienced young people.
Speaking about the partnership, Kate Somerville said: “Having grown up in a chaotic environment as a kid, I didn’t know what choices were available to me. I feel so passionate about helping other young people who’ve come from turbulent backgrounds defy the impossible and pursue their dreams. I am so proud that we are beginning this long-term partnership with Become to support the life-changing work the charity does in the UK for young care leavers.”
