‘Skinfluencer’ Hyram Yarbro, also known as Skincare by Hyram has announced he is teaming up with The INKEY List to create a new brand – Selfless by Hyram.
Hyram explains, “Through Selfless by Hyram, I want to connect the beauty industry with social change. My goal is to help people by not only creating high quality skincare with incredible formulations, but to also give people an opportunity to empower others around the world who are impacted by some of the biggest global issues known to our generation. I want to help people change the world just by doing their skincare routine.”
Founded by Colette Laxton and Mark Curry in 2018, The INKEY List was born from a belief that better knowledge powers better decisions. Together Hyram, Mark and Colette, Co-Founders of Selfless by Hyram explain, “The creation of Selfless by Hyram is the result of everything that we three as founders stand for. Reimaginging how you can build a beauty brand to put social impact first was a challenge we couldn’t resist. From where and how we buy ingredients to how we have structured the commercial model, to give back to charity in a meaningful way, drives our very being – enabling consumers to make the selfless choice easy.”
The brand will support organisations across four key areas: environment, health, education and empowerment. For its initial launch, environment and health will be the key pillars of focus. It will team up with Rainforest Trust and youth-activated water charity Thirst Project to focus on environment and health. Every product purchased from Selfless by Hyram will directly impact these organisations, either providing a year’s supply of clean drinking water or protecting tropical forests from deforestation through land purchased.
In its first 12 months, the brand aims to, “protect over 2,500 acres of rainforest from deforestation, restoring over 370,000 tonnes of CO2 and fund projects in over 60 communities in Eswatini, Africa, providing access to clean water to over 35,000 people for life.”
The first product to be revealed from the line is Retinol & Rainbow Algae Repair Serum, with every purchase helping to protect tropical forests from deforestation and additional launches are expected later this month.
